Hello, all.
I had a great post in the hopper for this week — a meaty one about mental health. But I decided to save it for after July 4 so more of you will hopefully be around to read it.
Yet I couldn’t resist sharing an image I’m swooning over.
To be clear, I wouldn’t park an iPad and watch something here. But I sure would make this my Zoom home base. Remember my previous post about people caring more about their Zoom backgrounds instead of the vastly more important foregrounds?! Creative people, in particular, need eye candy on the regular.
June 21 is summer’s starting gun. My brilliant friend Libby Delana posted that day:
Mother Nature is open late today. Go carpe the whole diem. Happy solstice.
Below are a few of my diem carpeing faves. I wish them all for you:
Put beauty in your field of vision as often as possible
Take a video of the sky from a hammock (I call this a HamCam)
Use your kitchen knives for something beyond breaking down Amazon boxes
Sunlight before screenlight (a Rick Rubin gem)
Listen to the frogs, cicadas, birds and, if you’re lucky, the water
And don’t forget to wear sunscreen (melanoma survivor, here). That’s it for this week. Short and sweet.
Until next time, remember that culture is the new creativity.
